Growing up a latch key kid in Durham NC could have lead the aggressive young Grimm down a very different path had it not been for a local boxing and later mix martial arts gym. Considered undersized Bigger trained to become a local champion in his weight class Unfortunately tragedy stuck for the up and coming fighter with him be falsely accused of a convenience store robbery where a clerk was nearly beaten to death. After months in prison Grimm was released when new evidence cleared on the charges but the shadow of the arrest and his the aggressive way the press played up his attitude cast a dark cloud on a once bright future. Recruited by Major Tom Colt to fighter in his American Death Match Promotion Dead or Alive Grimm became a nearly silent human wrecking machine attracting the attention of wrestling fans by being able to dispatch opponents without having to rely the promotions infamous hard core environment. Grimm’s abilities also attracted the then general manager of Southern Premier Wrestling Edison Ellis who brought Bigger to the promotion as a contender for Michael Maverick’s championship. After two failed attempts Grimm was able to win the SPW title from Maverick however Edison Ellis expected his charge to lay down and give him the SPW championship. Grimm rebelled against his manager which caused him to be on the receiving end of brutal multiple person beatings used by Ellis in attempt to weaken the double tough competitor. Ellis’s treatment gather Grimm an unlikely ally in the shape of Michael Maverick who chose to help the man who honorably took the championship from him. Unfortunately Edison Ellis’s power trip proved to much for even the combination of Maverick and Grimm and Bigger lost the championship to D-Block Edison Ellis’s latest client.
